HAPPY BIRTHDAY DEAR HARMONIE!  Hope you are having a great day! :glomp:
Art trade with the epic :iconfourth-star:! c8
Woooh this took me pretty a lot of time! She made me choose between Solna and Auros. :) And she asked for a night picture. Since Solna 's design has been inspired by the oriental looking, I decided to add a Chinese-like landscape. I've been inspired by a movie in particular, If you can recognize it! :XD: I've had problems with the mountains and the cherry tree. I've never drawn them before but I guess they came out pretty good. (?) Big thanks to my cutie ~VictDrag who helped me with the tree! :XD: Seriously he sent me some really helpful references and tutorials!~ <3
Oh well but I love Solna here! <3 I tend to make dragons more as adults in my style... even if the charachter should look more like a teen.
I really hope you'll like it! Thank you so much for accepting ny art trade request! <3
Have a nice day! :cuddle:

Hope you like it!

Such a magical, dreamy looking picture. :) I like Solna's pose (with the flared-out wings) as well as the tree bark's speckled appearance and the wind-blown leaves. ^^ I love how certain things appear illuminated (as if by moonlight or magical light) such as the leaves and the mountain tops. You've put a lot of details into it, like her wings (veins and ripples on her wing membrane where the wings are stretched), cracks in the rocks, etc. Good work!

Wow, the cherry tree is superb, and isn't it the Peach Tree of Heavenly Wisdom from Kung Fu Panda? I love how the petals are flying and how the dragon reminds me of Master Shifu looking at the sky for his master...it's beautiful.

I saw the peach tree in the background and immediately thought "hey, that looks like the peach tree of wisdom!"  And whaddya know, I scroll down, and so it is. XD
It's a beautiful piece - I especially love the little details in the wing membrane, how the skin gets more transparent towards the edges, and how the wing itself really seems like it's stretching.
One suggestion, if I may: next time you draw mountains in the distance (at night, anyway), try making them darker.  Because of the atmosphere, things that are farther away lose detail and become paler, more like the color the sky.  In nighttime/darker settings you still lose the detail, but instead it gets darker - in this case, those mountains would be almost black.  I've also noticed that utilizing this helps create a feeling of depth.   And actually, I wonder if it would help set the scene even a little better to exaggerate the lighting, too, like having deeper shadows and more silvery highlights.  Don't get me wrong, though, it's really very nice. ^^ I like the picture a lot (and those rocks especially)!

(I hope you don't mind that I offered a few tips, I'm just trying to share some thoughts that may or may not turn out to be helpful. ^^ )
